Later this month, the Town of Arlington will launch the Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund. This program will provide rental and mortgage assistance to Arlington households that have been impacted by the economic instability caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Funded through the Town's American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) allocation, the program will provide households assistance up to $2,500 per month for up to four months.
The Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund will be open to Arlington households at all income levels that:
Rent or own their home; Have a primary residence in Arlington; and Have documented current or previous inability or difficulty paying rent or mortgage due to COVID-19. The Arlington Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund will begin accepting pre-applications in March, 2022. Interested individuals may register to be notified by email when the application is available.
The Tenant-Homeowner Assistance Fund is part of the Town of Arlington's ARPA framework, which was endorsed by the Arlington Select Board in October. ARPA is intended to address the negative health and economic impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Arlington expects to receive $35.25 million in funds total.
