DARIEN, CT — A waterfront estate with a private beachfront on the secluded tip of Brush Island in Darien recently sold for $6 million, according to the realtor. According to a news release, the sale closed on Feb. 25, representing the highest-priced sale this year so far in Darien. The estate, located at 29 Brush Island Road, was listed by Sara Littlefield, a real estate agent and global luxury specialist affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty in Darien. Littlefield noted this sale illustrates a surge of demand in Connecticut's luxury real estate market that has been growing over the last two years. "Migration and relocation continue to drive the luxury markets both in Connecticut and nationwide," Littlefield said in a news release. "The pandemic has expedited many individuals' decisions and 2021 was a year of actionable activity for luxury buyers and sellers towards their real estate goals. We are continuing to see those motivations in 2022." Designed as a Nantucket-style contemporary home, the 5,6000 square-foot home features five bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms. It also offers panoramic views of Holly Pond and Long Island Sound. "It was a pleasure to represent this iconic estate," Littlefield said.
