WOODBURY, MN — The Minnesota Department of Transportation is looking to collaborate with community leaders, residents, businesses, motorists, and others to discuss how to improve the I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange in Woodbury. In an online open house, officials unveiled six potential alternatives to the current interchange that residents are asked to consider. Alternative A Alternative A adds a lane to eastbound I-94 from the interchange to Woodbury Drive. This includes; add a lane to the eastbound I-94 entrance ramp from northbound I-494create five lanes eastbound I-94 to Radio Drivecreate a two-lane eastbound I-94 exit to Radio Drive. One lane exit only and one lane exit optional.create four lanes eastbound I-94 to Woodbury Drive Alternative B Alternative B adds lanes to northbound I-694 including; add a third lane northbound from interchange beyond 10th Street, the end of third lane has not been identifiedadd an auxiliary lane between the northbound I-694 entrance ramp from westbound I-94 and the 10th Street exit ramp Alternative C Alternative C are flyover ramps; southbound I-694 to eastbound I-94northbound I-494 to westbound I-94Alternative D Alternative D are semi-directional ramps; southbound I-694 to eastbound I-94northbound I-694 to westbound I-94Alternative E Alternative E are flyover ramps; westbound I-94 to southbound I-494eastbound I-94 to northbound I-694Alternative F Alternative F are semi-directional ramps; westbound I-94 to southbound I-494eastbound I-94 to northbound I-694After reviewing the designs, residents can take the survey. This fall, MnDOT will narrow down the list of alternatives to two designs. The study is scheduled to finished this winter.
