Description
PERRY HALL, MD — In a show of solidarity with Ukraine, a vigil is planned this week in Honeygo Run Regional Park.
The Perry Hall Family Worship Center and Councilman David Marks are sponsoring the event.
Billed as a candlelight vigil, the event will honor the victims and families in Ukraine, according to Marks, who said it will be open to all.
A statewide vigil will take place in Annapolis Wednesday night to stand in solidarity with the Ukrainians, whose homeland is being attacked by Russia.
Gov. Larry Hogan terminated Maryland's sister-state partnership with Russia's Leningrad region over the weekend after the invasion of Ukraine. The partnership was established in 1993.
The vigil in Perry Hall will be from 6 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 4, at Honeygo Run Regional Park, 9033 Honeygo Boulevard.
