WATSONVILLE, CA — $1 million from the $1.1 billion Clean California initiative will help improve a section of the Highway 129/152 corridor known as Watsonville's "Main Street," the Santa Cruz Sentinel reports.
Some of the one million dollars worth of improvements will include paving sidewalks, removing dead trees and planting new ones, as well as new artistic elements along the street, the newspaper reported.
Work should start in the fall and be completed by June 2023, The Sentinel reported.
"As part of the Clean California initiative, we're excited about working with the City of Watsonville to develop this Highway 129/152 state beautification project along their historic main street corridor," Caltrans District 5 Clean California Coordinator told The Sentinel.
