UNION CITY, CA — Over the weekend, Union City Patch asked on our Facebook page, "If you could bring back one local business that closed in town (it doesn't matter how long ago), which would it be?"
More than a dozen people responded with long lost restaurants and stores that added value to their lives.
Perla María Díaz-Rabun misses Fresh and Easy.
Teresa Coatoam threw her allegiance behind Crooked Street.
Liz Mora fondly remembers Cardenas Market on 7th Street, which drew and impassioned response from Sylvia ArriolaLiz Mora, "YES!!!! Hometown butcher and meat market."
Pioneer Chicken, Pizza Joint, La Imperial restaurant and Banchero's all received mentions.
Thomas Bregante misses both Kmart and Sears.
Albert Benavidez Jr. would like to see The Old mill drinking bar revived. Raymond Bueno votes for DNA Brewery.
Joye Riojas misses "The old Round Table, dark and great sandwiches."
