ANNAPOLIS, MD — An arcade bar will open this month in the state capital. Customers will enjoy craft beers and signature cocktails while playing classic games like skeeball and Dance Dance Revolution. This retro atmosphere is highlighted by murals of video game characters like Mario, Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. The downtown Annapolis business, called GameOn Bar+Arcade, will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 18 at 3 p.m. The arcade has been in the works for months. The establishment launched its Facebook last September. The company started posting construction updates in December, and it joined the Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce last month. Owner Casey Linthicum told the Baltimore Business Journal that she also plans to open a location in Federal Hill. A third site may follow soonafter in Frederick. Linthicum used to own a McDonald's, but she sold her franchise in October 2021 to start GameOn. The entrepreneur got the idea after visiting a small arcade bar in New York, journalist Amanda Yeager said. "I thought ... maybe I can do something like this, but on a bigger scale," Linthicum told the Baltimore Business Journal. GameOn is located at 114 West Street, right next to the Graduate Annapolis hotel. Patrons can email [email protected], call (410) 885-4589 or visit gameonbararcade.com for more information. Residents can also follow the business on Facebook and Instagram. To learn more about the grand opening, check out the full story on the Baltimore Business Journal.
