Description
UPPER ST. CLAIR, PA — Two new locations in Allegheny County are available for residents to drop off glass bottles, jugs and jars at permanent recycling dumpsters.
The effort, funded by a state Department of Environmental Resources grant and a venture of the Glass Recycling Collaborative of Southwestern PA, county municipalities and the Pennsylvania Resources Council, will provide uninterrupted glass recycling access.
No sorting is required to deposit items in the blue recycling dumpsters at these locations:
Village Square Mall, Bethel Park: Sponsored by Dormont, Bethel Park, Upper St. Clair and Oxford Development, drop-offs are available seven days a week. Moon Public Works Garage (beginning March 7): Sponsored by Moon Township and the Moon Township Municipal Authority, drop-offs are available weekdays from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. "Glass is still one of the most recyclable materials we generate in our homes, and the market for glass recycling is very strong," resources council deputy director Sarah Alessio Shea said. "It's important from an environmental perspective to keep glass out of landfills, and PRC is dedicated to building an efficient, region-wide glass recycling collection network."
