COACHELLA VALLEY, CA — Two separate fires broke out in Coachella Valley Tuesday, destroying multiple homes, outbuildings and a vacant structure. Fire destroyed three mobile homes and two outbuildings in Thermal Tuesday, but there were no reports of any injuries. Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department responded to the blaze shortly after 2 p.m. in the 88000 block of Avenue 77. Firefighters arrived to find a single-wide mobile home fully enveloped in flames. The flames spread to two more mobile homes, while also torching two outbuildings before crews managed to contain the fire around 4 p.m. The fire also burned through some surrounding vegetation. No information was available on whether the blaze displaced any residents. A vacant structure in Coachella was destroyed Tuesday after it burst into flames. Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department received a report of a residential structure fire in the 50000 block of Saltillo Circle at 2:47 p.m. and arrived on the scene to find a single story building on fire. According to officials, the fire was ongoing and destroyed the building. No injuries were reported and crews were expected to remain on the scene for several hours. The causes of the fires were under investigation.
