PALM SPRINGS, CA— Palm Springs Police are investigating the deadly stabbing of a Palm Springs woman inside an East Arenas Road home. Police detained one person late Tuesday while investigators worked the scene. No charges have been filed, and the woman's identity has not been released. A 911 caller told authorities that a woman was stabbed at the 1700 block of Arenas Road home, just south of East Tahquitz Canyon Road, after 10 p.m. Tuesday. When police arrived, they found her body and detained an as-of-yet unidentified "person of interest," Police Chief Andrew Mills said. As of Wednesday, police were still "processing the scene" of the homicide, but there is no danger to the public, adding that the stabbing "appears self-contained."
