MERRIMACK, NH — A fire broke out in the garage of a Merrimack home Wednesday morning, but thanks to quick actions from firefighters, no one was injured. Firefighters responded to 3 Dodier Court at 10:52 a.m., to find heavy smoke coming from the house. Crews quickly found a fire in the stairs leading from the garage to the first floor of the home and were able to knock the flames down and prevent the fire from spreading. Firefighters confirmed all people inside the house had evacuated, and two cats were found safe. The fire was found to be under control at 11:01 a.m., Fire Marshal John Manuele said. Mutual aid was received from Manchester and Nashua, as well as the Merrimack Police Department, and all personnel cleared the scene by noon. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
