WOODBURY, MN — Woodbury police have apologized after misidentifying a woman they previously said was involved in the theft of packages. "Can you identify this thief?" police tweeted Thursday. "She stole several packages from a residence here in Woodbury."
They included a photo of a woman holding packages.
Police later deleted the tweet, and apologized. It turned out that the "theft" wasn't a theft at all. A delivery company had delivered packages to the wrong address, but they were then picked up by the correct owner.
"When reported to us the complainant didn't recognize the neighbor," police said. "Our apologies for the miscommunication."
