JOLIET, IL — Michael Soto and Marlow Franco-Soto along with a 15-year-old boy were arrested by Joliet police Tuesday night after officers say the three Joliet teenagers were driving around with two loaded guns in their car, including one that was stolen.
The three were pulled over around 9:15 p.m. near Mississippi Street and Second Avenue for having illegally tinted windows, according to police.
After the traffic stop, 19-year-old Michael Soto was put in the Will County Jail on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful ammunition possession and having no Firearm, Owners Identification card. The 18-year-old Marlow Franco-Soto was booked into the Will County Jail on the same three criminal charges, as well as possessing a stolen gun.
The 15-year-old boy was released to the custody of a parent on charges of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful ammunition possession and having no FOID.
According to police reports, Marlow Franco-Soto was the driver with the juvenile and Michael Soto as passengers. After officers obtained permission to search the car, two loaded handguns were recovered and one of the guns was stolen, according to Joliet police.
