ELMHURST, IL – Elmhurst police were trying to stop a vehicle driven by a carjacking suspect when a crash happened, police said Wednesday. The accident happened about 1:30 p.m. at Spring Road and Crescent Avenue, police said in a Facebook post. The vehicle's driver was believed to have committed a carjacking in Chicago, police said. The 29-year-old man from Chicago was the only one in the vehicle, police said. Authorities said formal charges are pending against the man.
