Description

Last Thursday and Friday, 99 Troy High HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America, also known as Michigan Future Health Professionals) students attended the State Leadership Conference in Traverse City, where they took different assessments, presented in a variety of categories, and competed with over 2,000 other Michigan students. A grand total of 63 students received recognition for their results and 28 students won gold, silver or bronze medals (top 3) in their categories automatically qualifying for the international competition in Nashville in June. HOSA-Future Health Professionals is a national student organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. HOSA's two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA's goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership. HOSA's mission is especially critical when considering the acute shortage of qualified workers for the health care industry due to COVID and the current medical environment. The following students should be especially commended for their hard work and excellence, as they qualify and prepare for Internationals in June!
