TEMPE, AZ — The city's suggested deadline to return completed ballots in the mail for the March 8 Tempe City Council election has passed, but if you missed it, you haven't missed your chance to cast your ballot. The city suggested getting completed ballots in the mail by Tuesday, March 1 to ensure that they are received in time to be counted. But you can still drop your completed ballot at an official drop off location or vote in person on Election Day, March 8. The only item on the March 8 ballot is the Tempe City Council election in which seven candidates are running for three open seats. The candidates are Jennifer Adams, Arlene Chin, Casey Clowes, Berdetta Hodge, Gina Kash, Harper Lines and John Skelton. Ballots: All eligible Tempe voters should have been mailed a ballot by Feb. 9, according to a news release from the city. Drop Boxes: Completed, signed and sealed ballots in their envelopes can be dropped off at Tempe City Hall, 31 E. Fifth St., from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. They can also be dropped off until 5 p.m. on Election Day. They can also be dropped off any time through 7 p.m. on Election Day at Maricopa County Elections, 510 S. Third Ave., in Phoenix. Voting in person: You can vote in person at Tempe History Museum, 809 E. Southern Ave., through March 8 if you did not receive a ballot, lost your ballot or just prefer to vote in person. Voting hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 6 a.m.- 7 p.m. on Election Day.
