TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Wednesday announced that Brendan Moore has been promoted to Chief Operations Officer, effective immediately. The mayor's office pointed out that Moore has worked for the City of Tuscaloosa since 2008, most recently serving as the project lead for Elevate Tuscaloosa and as the executive director of the City of Tuscaloosa's Office of Urban Development. "Brendan has played a vital role in the operations and growth of our City," Maddox said. "He has proven time and time again that he has the knowledge and skillset to succeed in his new role as Chief Operations Officer." Maddox then said Moore specializes in matters of economic development, civic innovation and strategic management. In a notable recent accomplishment, Moore worked with The University of Alabama to co-invent a technology aimed at addressing blight and code violations. Moore is a two-time graduate of the University of Alabama and is also a member of the American Planning Association (APA), in addition to the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
