DARIEN, IL — ComEd is recognizing the urgency of taking care of the issue of outages in Darien's Brookeridge Creek and Carriage Way West neighborhoods, an official said Monday. At Monday's Darien City Council meeting, Ward 5 Alderwoman Mary Sullivan said she spoke with ComEd executives recently and that they are elevating the urgency of the matter. The utility, she said, is assessing the area on issues such as tree trimming. Branches near wires is believed to be contributing to the problem. Sullivan said 89 residents in the Darien neighborhoods are experiencing repeated outages. They were without power for days after the big storm in August that caused outages throughout the Chicago area. "We're going to stay on top of it," Sullivan said. "We'll really stress the urgency of this happening soon." Mayor Joseph Marchese said he hoped ComEd would follow through. Replied Sullivan, "I'll be on them. Trust me."
