DARIEN, IL — A Darien juvenile was charged Thursday after he sold 200 LSD tablets to an undercover officer, DuPage County prosecutors announced in a news release.
On Wednesday, the undercover officer with the DuPage Metropolitan Enforcement Group, or DuMEG, bought the tablets from the juvenile, the release said. The youth is also accused of having ammunition without holding a valid firearm owner's identification card.
According to the release, DuMEG's LSD seizures have increased 100 percent since 2017.
"The availability and quantity of LSD seized is concerning," Andrew Anselm, DuMEG's director, said in the release.
The juvenile faces one felony count of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and two misdemeanor counts of illegal possession of ammunition.
DuPage County Judge Anthony Coco ordered the youth detained until at least his next court appearance, which is set for next Thursday.
The juvenile's age was unavailable.
