Job Title: Material Handler Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for storing, moving, and handling material in the warehouse while ensure the goods are documented, packed, and dispatched to work cells on time. In addition, maintaining safety and cleanliness within the warehouse always. Relationships & Roles: • Works with customer service to understand customer orders and take guidance from the Production Planner to obtain all parts to fulfill client orders. Ability to work cross-functionally within the operations (production, customer service, supply chain, operations, shipping, etc.) while maintaining a positive work environment. • Ability to multi-task while receiving guidance from various team members. Works well in a fast-paced, high pressure environment. • Reports any problems to the Purchasing Team related to inventory levels, system issues, or other pressing issues. Responsibilities & Accountabilities: • Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording location of inventory • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders. • Performs in system transfers from bins to ensure accurate inventory levels are always maintained within corporate platform. • Works with production team to replace any non-confirming materials and submits proper documentation to any quality issues while transferring item(s) into the appropriate bin locations within system. • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies. • Keep the warehouse organized and tidy and implement general housekeeping practices to main workplace cleanliness. • always Maintains safety and quality standards. • Assist with weekly cycle-counts to maintain correct inventory levels within system as it will impact MRP creations. • All other duties as assigned. Job Specifications (skills and experience): • Minimum 2 years of inventory and/or material handling experience in manufacturing environment preferred. • Experience maneuvering pallet jack and forklift driving certification preferred. • High school or GED degree • Strong understanding of inventory management, time management, and basic computer skills. • Proven ability to work within a team environment and be a self-starter. • Other competencies – Basic math, writing, and oral communication abilities. • Physical demands – ability to lift up to 50lbs., stand/walk continuously and perform physical tasks.
