DARIEN, IL — A historical photo at the Darien Historical Society's museum in the Old Lace Schoolhouse was reported stolen last week, police said. "We are asking for it back," society board member Debbie Coulman said in an interview Thursday. "If they want to return it to us, no questions asked. That's fine with us." The photo is of the school after it was built in 1924. It is believed to have been taken in the 1920s or 1930s by a photographer positioned on Cass Avenue. The photo includes the school's outhouse, which is long gone. The photo was printed from the original glass negative, Coulman said. "We're glad to make copies of any pictures that are in the museum if it's possible," she said. It cost $200 to frame the photo in question, she said.
