STILLWATER, MN — The board for Stillwater Area Schools is considering a delayed start for the school year. The measure would aim to provide families and staff additional time to prepare for "an unusual year of learning," the district said in a release Friday.
The new calendar, recommended to the board by administrators, would have students begin school after Labor Day:
First days of school, under the proposal:
Sept. 8 (grades 6, 9)Sept. 9 (grades 7, 8, 10, 11, 12) Sept. 10 (grades K through 5)K-5 Ready, Set, Go! Online conferences: Sept. 8, 9The board is expected to vote on the delayed calendar July 30.
