General Rice Farm Labor/Tractor Driver

We are a family rice farm, that also custom farms and manages rice fields in Butte and Glenn Counties. We also operate a fertilizer and chemical application business. We are looking to grow our company and need motivated employees to help us accomplish our growth. This job is seasonal for the planting season, but the right employee could turn the job into a full time position. Employee can start immediately. Employee will be under direct supervision of owners and will be expected to provide day to day farm help. Employee will need to be a team oriented person with good communication skills. Owners and employees work together to accomplish goals. Employees will be prepping fields for planting by driving tractors in the spring. During planting, spraying, and harvest, work will be 50+ hours a week. While previous tractor driving experience is not needed, it will be an advantage. We use a lot of precision ag technology on our farm, and use new equipment. Employee will need to be a fast learner if no prior experience. Employee should also be comfortable driving pickup trucks with trailers. This job involves the operation of agricultural equipment and chemicals, and the working conditions can be dangerous or dusty at times. During chemical applications, employee will be required to wear provided personal protective equipment, no exceptions. We require a pre-employment physical, and drug screening once offer has been made. Employee should be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Employees should have basic math skills and will be expected to be able to follow instructions. Employee must have a valid California Drivers License. Pay is dependent on experience.
