Hi there My name is Travis and I have been a private music teacher for about 7 years. I have always wanted to give group workshops, and am offering free workshops for the next few weeks to try to get my feet wet in giving group lectures and answering questions. They will be at 10am on Saturdays over zoom and open to all ages and playing levels. If you are interested please send me: 1 - a good email to send the zoom link to 2 - what kinds of workshops would interest you here are the kinds of lectures I am thinking of giving - Intro to general music theory (beginner) - intro to scales, chords, key signatures - Intro to jazz for classical musicians (intermediate) - you know your triads and dominant chords, but what the heck are these 7ths, 9ths, etc.? how do I sound “jazzier?” - Intro to American music (beginner) - what’s up with marches, ragtime and jazz? Why are they so American? - Intro to jazz piano voicings (intermediate) - I can chunk out a block chord, but how do I spread out my voicing? - What the heck is this thing?? (all levels) - Just a session of Q & A where you ask me, “hey, I’ve seen this thing… what the heck is it??” If you have other ideas of things you would like to learn about, please let me know!
