Seeking a full-time, seasoned and skilled Companion to support and assist a lady of the house. This is an amazing opportunity to work for a wonderful family on the Upper East-Side of Manhattan. The Companion’s primary responsibilities and focus will be to provide the highest quality service and nurturing care to create a thriving and safe environment in the home. Characteristics: Respectful, diligent, and discreet at all times A warm, caring and nurturing demeanor A strong ability to be patient and calm Duties include but are not limited to: Accompanying client to doctors’ appointments and general public outings Careful and courteous with assistance with walking, standing, sitting, transfers Helping client with routine exercises Assist with all aspects of daily care tasks and personal hygiene if necessary Occasionally prepare and serve light meals Light housekeeping Grocery Shopping and running errands Recreational activities Communicating by text message and telephone in order to maintain the link between the client and her two grown children and her primary employees Willingness to work alongside the primary housekeeper Other duties as assigned The ideal candidate will have: Previous caregiving experience A passion for caregiving and a desire to help others A commitment to being present and providing quality care Empathy, patience, kindness and respect Awareness of when to be present and when to give space to the client Flexible schedule– weekend days required Ability to travel overnights to CT as necessary (Companion will have their own private room and bathroom) Ability to stay overnight as necessary (preferred) Schedule: Full-time (Flexibility Required)
