WASHINGTON COUNTY, MN — A 10-year-old boy died after he was found in the St. Croix River Friday, according to authorities. On July 3 just before 3 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to William O'Brien State Park in Scandia on a report of a missing child in the water.
The sheriff's office — along the county's fire and dive team, Minnesota DNR, and the county recovery team — assisted with the search for the boy. Police found the boy's body at 4:27 p.m., according to a news release.
Medical personnel began life saving measures and transported him to Regions Hospital.
At about 7:30 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff's Office learned that the boy was pronounced deceased. The incident is under investigation.
