GENERAL MAINTENANCE WORKER Barrister Executive Suites, Inc. seeks to hire an experienced General Maintenance Worker to assist the Senior Maintenance Worker. The General Maintenance Worker will perform general maintenance and repairs at approximately 20 locations in/around Los Angeles County. Following the completion of on-the-job training from the Senior Maintenance Worker, of no less than 6 months, it is envisioned that the role will transition to focus on approximately 8 locations within the Conejo (1) San Fernando (5), San Gabriel (1), and Santa Clarita (1) Valleys. Number of locations is subject to change. Responsibilities: • Inspects and identifies elements in need of repair. • Plans repair work utilizing building’s blueprints and materials provided by manager. • Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples include but are not limited to drywall repair (patch/spackle/sand/prime), painting, door repair (handle/hinges/locks), and other building fixtures. • Install electrical appliances using the equipment manual as needed. • Carpet/upholstery cleaning. • Moving furniture from office-to-office and hauling away to a disposal site. • Test the functionality of work that has been completed. • Framing, locksmith. • Orders supplies and materials. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Ability to follow instructions from office managers and supervisors. • Knowledge of general maintenance and repair. • Adept at using ordinary hand tools and small power tools. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Self-motivated and reliable. • Keen eye for detail to creatively troubleshoot and problem solve. Education/Experience: • High school diploma or equivalent required. • Previous experience as a general maintenance worker or similar position, preferably in a corporate setting. • Basic working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, ventilation/HVAC systems (not required). Physical and Other Requirements: • Prolonged periods of standing and walking. • Must be physically able to climb tall ladders, bend, and crawl into small/awkward spaces. • Must be able to lift up to 51 pounds themselves and up to 200 pounds using a furniture dolly/dolly • Must have a valid Driver’s License. • Must have reliable transportation for commuting between multiple locations on a daily basis, strong preference for a flatbed truck – mileage will be compensated.
