Callabar Summer Camp is a small, private camp that offers children, ages 4-15, swimming, tennis, games, and arts and crafts programming. We are looking for a fun, well-organized individual to come on board as Camp Director from June 27 - August 19, 2022. The ideal candidate has a background in elementary education and or experience in organized childcare. Due to state mandated day camp regulations, this person must be at least 21 years old. Details on responsibilities are below: Certifications Needed: CPR and First Aid – training course to be scheduled. Pre-Camp Preparation: Planning meetings with camp committee 1-2 staff meetings with camp staff Attending training course and reading of the Safety Plan and the Covid Safety Plan before camp starts Developing weekly camp schedule and scheduling outside guests for special activities Determining supplies needed for games, arts and crafts and special events with camp committee co-chairs Attending Hot Dog Roast/Camp Kick-Off before camp starts, tentative date: June 24th, 2022. Camp Responsibilities: Manage and oversee the camp counselors and CITs Sign-in and sign-out the campers Communicate with camp families about day-to-day activities Oversee the day to day camp activities and camp groups Assign the groups based on age and swim ability Keep track of weekly camper sign-ups and capacity Help track counselor hours for payroll Keep track of medical records/paperwork for all campers Oversee adherence to Covid safety plan Planning off-site field trips, if allowed within Health Department and State Guidelines.
