Most of you don't travel abroad and don't get much news about what other nations are doing. EVERY other rich, developed nation regulates the market on behalf of workers, and guarntees them benefits American workers could only dream of. I'm talking affordable (free at the point of service) healthcare and education...including college. I'm talking about WEEKS of paid vacation to ALL employees. Blue collar Americans: have you EVER taken a four week paid vacation? 99.9% of you never have and never will. What a pity! I'm talking about living wages (mcdonalds workers in Denmark make 23$ an hour to start with benefits) and paid maternity leave. Many nations fund a YEAR of paid maternity leave. Blue collar mothers in America: could you even imagine such a benefit? Sadly, probably not, as you'll be back at wqork paying for childcare two weeks after giving birth.
