Oversees Cemetery Maintenance operations and resources for large or multiple cemeteries and responsible for the overall appearance and condition of the grounds and landscaping. Manages daily activities through Supervisors. Source and manage vendors, order supplies, develop equipment maintenance schedule, coordinate equipment repair, budget for equipment replacement. Responsible for regulatory compliance with safety, PPE, environmental, and wildlife. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees the day to day interment, monument, grounds keeping, and landscaping operations by guiding and coaching Supervisors. Allocates labor and equipment resources across Parks. Reviews work schedules. Establishes and communicates expectations. Coordinates work schedules with Funeral Services, Cemetery Services, and Grounds Keeping ensuring business needs are accomplished but do not interfere with Services. Collaboratively resolves issues impacting grounds care, irrigation, water conservation, horticulture, landscaping, and wild life management. Assure Park complies with OSHA and EPA regulations, associates comply with regulations, and work is performed with appropriate Personal Protective Equipment. Work is conducted in a safe working environment by training staff in safe techniques, use, maintenance, and storage of equipment. Source vendors and manage vendors against contractual service level agreements (SLAs). Develop equipment maintenance schedule, coordinate repairs, and order supplies. Maintains processes and procedures including storm/environmental contingency plans. Identifies and implements innovative solutions improving efficiencies. Supports change initiatives, maintaining effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work responsibilities or environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes, requirements or cultures. People Development Develop a strong, trusting, and reliable team. Understand team members career aspirations and provide assignments to develop skills and/or close gaps. Constructively address issues and provide tangible and appropriate feedback. Apply a proactive and collaborative management style in order to increase employee engagement and minimize turnover. Ensures mandatory training is completed by staff prior to deadline. Responsible for screening candidates (internal and external) and hiring or promoting a skilled and effective staff. Recommends pay increases, special pays, and career advancements. MINIMUM Requirements Education High School diploma or equivalent Certification Valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history Experience At least seven (7) years cemetery interment, monument, and grounds keeping experience with increasing skill development and responsibilities. At least two (2) years supervisory experience, preferably in Cemetery Maintenance Irrigation and water conservation experience preferred Bilingual in Spanish a preferred Experience with vendor management a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Professional verbal and written communication skills Strong work ethic and ethical business practices Proficient MS Office Outlook skills Proficient database skills to administer human resources transactions and timecard approvals Demonstrate environmental and safety regulation knowledge and application Demonstrate knowledge of IRLA, IOA Who we are.
