Two of Boston’s cultural culinary mavens: Chef Tamika R. Francis & Elle Simone Scott offering a delicious Dine-In Jerk Dinner Box In celebration of International Women's Month, Boston JerkFest presents the "Winter Warm-Up," in collaboration with two of Boston’s top cultural connoisseurs and culinary mavens: Chef Tamika R. Francis of Food & Folklore and Elle Simone Scott of SheChef, who will prepare meals featuring Jamaican Jerk style cuisine. Joining them will be award-winning Mixologist and Beverage Educator Kyisha Davenport of BarNoirBoston. Our Dine-In Jerk Dinner Box is a 3-course meal for two with Caribbean culinary creations made by both Chefs along with curated Mocktails. Enjoy a delicious jerk meal in the comfort of your home. Francis, Dutchpot/Food & Folklore Culinary creative Tamika, is a descendant of the Jamaican maroons, the people who invented jerk as a resistance cooking method centuries ago. She is the founder of Food & Folklore, which pays homage to global food traditions through pop-up dining events, culinary classes, and storytelling.  In 2019 she launched a sold out 7-part diaspora pop up dining series, in collaboration with Boston based chefs sponsored by Toast. She’s worked in agro-tourism, farming and culinary event producer locally and internationally and as a culinary instructor at the Boston Public Market, The Haley House, Curio Spice. She was most recently featured on an episode of Moveable Feast by Relish, Eater Boston, upcoming Edible Boston and is a fierce advocate for supporting emerging culinary creatives and diverse food-ways in the industry. She’s currently building Dutchpot.app, space for culinary creatives to  build community & collaborate. Chef Elle Simone Scott, SheChef Chef Elle Simone Scott is a culinary maverick. Always drawn to creative food culture, Elle has been dazzling the culinary world since 2006, quickly becoming a highly sought after freelance Food Stylist and Culinary Producer. Elle has collaborated and contributed her unique styling abilities to Food Network, Food Network Magazine, The Cooking Channel, The Katie Couric Show, CBS Corporation, ABC’s The Chew and Bravo's Chef Roble and Co. Her Specialties don’t stop with styling and production. As the creator of SheChef IncA professional networking organization for women chefs of color, Elle shares her passion by mentoring, teaching resource building, business consultation/ development and most importantly, advocacy. She is currently the resident Food Stylist & Test Cook on America's Test Kitchen on PBS and the first African-American woman to do so. Kyisha Davenport, Mixologist, BarNoirBoston Founder Kyisha’s journey in Boston began in 2013, visiting for the first time before volunteering and briefly organizing with a local chapter of a national hospitality union. She worked as a bartender and server in several beloved restaurants around the city before opening her first restaurant, Tanám, as a worker-owner and Bar Director. At Tanám, Kyisha developed a small but powerful bar program that continues to have impact, leaning into the concept of solidarity and connectivity between diasporic cultures in mixology. In 2019, the Tanám team was named Restaurant of the Year by Eater Boston, making her the first Black Woman to hold the honor. Upon departing Tanám, Kyisha relaunched BarNoirBoston, serving as the 2021 cocktail writer in residence for Edible Boston magazine, contributing to For the Culture Magazine, as well as several cocktail and writing collaborations with Boston.com, Brown and Balanced, Creatives of Color Boston, DutchPot, the Boston Globe, and more. Kyisha has officially joined the Comfort Kitchen team, where she will lead the bar program upon opening their historic location in the Uphams Corner neighborhood of Dorchester.
