Description

A Yoga Nidra Workshop to awaken connection, cultivate vision and restore joy - with instructor Sara Beck. Resting in Light: A Yoga Nidra Workshop to Awaken Connection, Cultivate Vision and Restore Joy Yoga Nidra is often translated as the ‘yoga of sleep,’ but it is, in fact, a practice that is intended to wake us up. This deeply restful technique uses guided meditation, breath consciousness, sensory awareness, and visualization to help us remember who we are in our most unified, easeful and integrated state. There we enter a deep place of quiet, surrender, and trust. While resting on that sacred threshold of waking and sleeping - held in a strong container of love - a kind of divine medicine gently eases our body-mind-heart self, and in that space of wakeful sleep, we restore, reconnect, and realign with our truest nature, one that is beyond the limitations, injuries and passing identifications of ego and body. The sense that we are separate from ourselves, others, and the source of all Life retreats. There in that integrated state, we remember that we are inherently whole and luminous, and we become available to levels of ease, vision, and creativity that we forgot were possible. In this workshop, we will explore Yoga Nidra as a method that encourages us to wake up to who we are, how we live, and to what degree we remain conscious during the transitions of our lives. Where do we feel stuck? Zoned out? Asleep? Where do we feel alive? Free? Joyous? Gentle movement, contemplation, breathwork, and free writing will help us explore our deepest intentions and prepare us for the practice of conscious rest that will open us to the Light that shines in us and in all things. The physical practice of Yoga Nidra requires only that you can lie down in a supported position or sit comfortably for 30-40 minutes. No yoga, meditation or movement experience is necessary. All are welcome! Be sure you are warm with socks for your feet, a sweater or other coverings for your body. - Please bring a journal or paper as well as a writing utensil. Registration is $40 per person.
