Abandoned Cat Needs Help - Home

In the house that I rent a room from, a short term roommate moved out recently and left a sweet, talkative, but troubled cat behind. PJ is a small, black female cat that was kept in her former guardians room for the approximately two months that he lived here. Since he moved out and abandoned her a month ago, she has been free to roam the house with our two resident female cats. She's an indoor cat. There are problems... she won't use the litter box. She sprays. I'm guessing she has not been spayed. She is picked on by one of the resident cats. I tried a second litter box and some special cat litter, but, the problem persists. One of my roommates has complained to the landlord, so now PJ is going to be surrendered to the county shelter by the landlord. I don't have any history on PJ. The tenant that abandoned her was not very social. PJ is about half the size of our two resident cats. I feed her, so she has become comfortable with me. She is very affectionate, silly, talkative with the sweetest squeak, and plays with the one resident cat that is friendly with her. I am desperate to find her hope, help, and a home before the landlord gets an appointment to surrender her to the shelter.
