3 vs. 3 basketball tournament to have some fun and fund volunteer SIUE Mustard Seed Club students to travel and help struggling villages! This March Madness Basketball Tournament is a fundraiser for SIUE Mustard Seed Peace Project Club. We design, travel, and implement latrines and hand washing stations for struggling communities within Guatemala. These communities are lacking proper sanitation and health conditions. This tournament will fund our students' travel expenses to build latrines and hand washing stations for the community of Las Mojarras. The tournament will be a double-elimination tournament where the winners will win gift cards to local restaurants in the Saint Louis and Edwardsville area to enjoy, along with their ticket price back! The teams will be 3 vs 3, but single tickets are allowed for purchase. There will be concessions in the gym. Each team will pay a $40 admission fee in advance to be placed in the tournament. COVID-19 precautions will be taken place and take seriously. All individuals will be required to wear masks while in the gym, unless they are playing, eating, or drinking. Social distancing will be encouraged. Any team that refuses to wear a mask will forfeit their match and their admission fee will not be refunded. There will be multiple hand-sanitizing stations that players will be encouraged to use. Have fun! Enjoy the lively game of basketball! Win prizes!
