Description
Bassist, M30, with 15+ years experience looking for an original band. I want to write good songs, get a tight set together, and start playing shows. I was raised on 70's prog, but can ape anything from rock to punk to funk and even some jazz if I'm feeling squirrely. I have a good working knowledge of musical theory, and am a good improviser. I want to either start from scratch writing new music or contribute something meaningful to any established project. I have professional quality gear, plenty of recording and live playing experience, and want to jump in with competent musicians and songwriters and get something cooking.
Under no circumstances do I want to do covers. Maybe one or two if I like the tunes, but I enjoy the chemistry of creating with others too much to be a living jukebox. I'm not looking for a hobby band. I've been playing with my musical pud since the pandemic started, and I'm itching to get a tight band together that can melt faces and jam their asses off.
Ideally, I'd like to find a core of dedicated musicians. I've had half a dozen projects fizzle out over the last year due to personnel changes and lack of drive from players, and my poor ol' heart just can't take it no more. I'd like to meet at least twice weekly to ensure things are solid and progress quickly, and don't mind a bit of travel to make it happen.
I have some recordings available that showcase some of my harder-edged/ proggy playing, which should be a good metric for my skill set. Email me and I'll include the tracks in my reply, and please feel free to share anything you've got with me. I'm fully vaccinated, as well.
