The theme of this year’s in-person Animation project is a real-life story of loons being rescued by scientists on icy Lake Winnepesauke. Students will learn all about loons, their habits and adaptations as well as why a group of loons needed to be rescued. They will even be able to Zoom with one of the scientists. Students will work with plasticine clay to make a claymation of the story using the program Stop Motion Studio. In addition they will hear stories about loons, tell their own bird stories, do art projects, as well as have fun with dramatization and movement. Camp is designed for ages 7 to 10. The Animation Art Camp will be taught by Melissa Post and Diane Kemble and held at the Unitarian Universalist Meetinghouse in Springfield. It has a large indoor space and outdoor play area.
