Internationally renowned historian Dr. Alex Mikaberidze will share insights about the history behind the conflict in Ukraine.
The Hypogeum Society and the LSUS Foundation present Dr. Alex Mikaberidze, who will speak on the history and context of the conflict in Ukraine. Dr. Mikaberidze is a professor of history at LSU Shreveport and holds the Ruth Herring Noel Endowed Chair for the Curatorship of the James Smith Noel Collection at LSUS. He is a native of the Republic of Georgia, which was a part of the Soviet Union until the country declared independence in 1991. The Republic of Georgia faced a similar conflict with Russia in 2008. Tickets include dinner. Seating starts at 6 p.m. The program starts at 6:30 p.m. Dinner follows the program.
