Learn the basics of bicycle repair from our trained mechanics, topics covered include fixing a flat tire, brake and derailleur adjustments
Taught by our shop mechanics, this introductory class is split into four, two-hour evening sessions (6:00 - 8 pm) each month.The April schedule is as follows:- Thursday April 7, 6 - 8 PM- Thursday April 14, 6 - 8 PM- Thursday April 21, 6 - 8 PM- Thursday April 28, 6 - 8 PMTopics covered in the class include:- Differences between styles of bicycles and their purpose- Names of bicycle parts and their functions- Introduction to bicycle-specific tools- How to repair a flat tire- How to diagnose and repair brake and derailleur issues- Brake and derailleur cable adjustments- How to true a wheel- Proper bike fit- How to take care of and maintain your bike in your daily lifeThis class includes an annual membership to the Bicycle Collective. If you are already a member, your membership will be renewed for one year at the end of the class.
Note* Please bring your bike to every session, the easiest way to learn is on your own bicycle.
