Press release from the City of Glendora: November 13, 2020 November - December 2020 Glendora Public Library has something for everyone! All events are proudly presented by the Glendora Public Library and GPL Friends Foundation. Plaza Discovery Place* Visit our weekly pop-ups on the Plaza where guests can discover activities, topical materials such as music CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, and of course...Books! A selection of materials will be available for immediate check out. All other Library materials may be requested for pick-up the following morning. *COVID Restrictions Apply • November 18th, 10am – 1pm: Biographies and history • December 2nd, 1pm – 4pm: Hobby, DIY, and Craft More dates to come! In-N-Out Cover to Cover Reading Program October 3 – November 14* Reading incentive program for children ages 4-12. Children who read five hours will receive a certificate for a hamburger or cheeseburger from In-N-Out. Dawson Ave. Opera Talks November 16, 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm Join the Library and Ray Busmann of the LA Opera Speaker's Bureau for a Zoom presentation about Joseph Bologne, an often overlooked composer who inspired Mozart, commissioned Haydn, was a fencer and violinist, and also led troops in the French Revolution. He is also known as the first black classical composer in history! Participate in an optional toy drive to benefit the Department of Children's and Family Services. Brought to you by the Glendora Public Library and City of Glendora Community Services Department. Sponsored by GPL Friends Foundation, Glendora Rotary and Raising Cane's. Supplies are limited to the first 500 children. Holiday Book Party December 9, 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm Countdown to Christmas!
