A night of networking, thought leadership, and celebrating some of Georgia's leading black entrepreneurs. THE DETAILS: B Local Georgia and the Georgia Social Impact Collaborative are excited to present "Celebrating Black Entrepreneurship: Envisioning and Equitable Future." We'll be gathering in person, starting at 5:30 at the ATDC in beautiful Midtown Atlanta. Our programming and panel will kick off at 6:30, wrapping up around 7:30 and allowing for any last minute-networking before we wrap up at 8:00. Since space is limited, we are selling $10 tickets for this event. Dinner from Marddy's Shared Kitchen & Marketplace is included with your ticket. Due to venue rules, we will not be serving anything alcoholic, however we will provide plenty of complimentary local beverages (sodas, kombucha, water). OUR PANELISTS: Twanna Harris: Our moderator for the night, Twanna is the founder and CEO of Tribal Good, a collaborative community for aspiring and early-stage multi-hyphenates creating disruptive startups at the intersection of culture, design, and technology. Prior to this, Twanna spent 3.5 years as the VP of Brand, Content, & Strategic Initiatives for the Atlanta Beltline. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University and an MBA in Marketing from Clark Atlanta University. John DeShazer: John is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in CRM and Marketing Automation software in corporate and start-up environments, which inspired him to start LogicSpree, an Atlanta based Salesforce consulting firm specializing in Saleforce Sales Cloud implementations. He also serves as the VP of Atlanta Technology Professionals, is the Chair of the Board for the Technology Association of Georgia's Southeast Software Association, and serves on the board for InspirEDU. John studied at and earned a Bachelors in Business Administration degree in marketing from Georgia College & State University. Michele Pearson Tucker: Michele Pearson Tucker has committed her life to leading community initiatives, working collaboratively with local organizations and providing financial empowerment. She is a proud business owner of an Edward Jones investment branch where she works as a Financial Advisor, partnering with individuals, families, and businesses in organizing, building, protecting and transferring wealth. Michele is also a founding member of the Minority Business and Nonprofit Association and currently serves on eight additional nonprofit boards in Athens. Wanona Satcher: Wanona is CEO and Founder of Mākhers Studio, a green manufacturing and modular design-build company. She is a graduate of Auburn University (College of Architecture, Design, & Construction) and Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business. Her 17-year professional career is a combination of project management, urban design, landscape architecture, and civic engagement. Mrs. Satcher has written for the Huffington Post and participated in both the CityLab-Aspen Institute and Bloomberg Philanthropies National Innovation Program. Wanona was featured in Inc Magazine’s top 100 Female Entrepreneurs 2020, CBS Small Business Spotlight, 2020 SOCAP-Spectrum Founder of Color, Forbes Magazine and as a Next City Vanguard Top 40 Under 40 Vanguard. Mrs. Satcher is a 2020 Summit Senior Fellow through the Summit Series. Kevin Rodgers: Kevin is the founder & CEO of SHWAXX Laboratories, a maker of handcrafted shampoos, conditioners and styling aids. A master barber, his journey has taken him through multiple entrepreneurial endeavors and his mission is to build healthier self-images through the art and science of natural products and hair. His vision for SHWAXX includes building a coalition of green chemists, botanists, organic farmers, and renewable energy consultants to become a vertically integrated, sustainable ,smart energy, agricultural cooperative producer of organic raw plant-based oils and specialty raw ingredients. Kevin is also currently pursuing his Bachelor's in Business Administration in Agricultural Business from Central Arizona College. OUR CATERER: Marddy's Shared Kitchen & Marketplace: Marddy’s mission is to Preserve and Promote Culinary Culture. We focus on economic inclusion, business development and growth opportunities for local food entrepreneurs. Our primary service groups are people of color, women and other marginalized populations. We provide a licensed facility for cooks to prepare and distribute their offerings.
