This show puts the spotlight on those beloved melodies sung and danced to by Fred and Judy and Doris and Julie and Gene and other stars (one movie studio boasted “more than there are in the heavens!). Songwriters including the Gershwins, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter are featured, and these great standards are performed by singer Maud Hixson ("gently virtuosic"--All About Jazz") Maud Hixson and pianist Rick Carlson put the spotlight on those beloved melodies. They explore studios such as MGM, Paramount and Warner Brothers, songwriters including the Gershwins, Irving Berlin and Cole Porter and the stars (one movie studio boasted “more than there are in the heavens!) Please purchase tickets for you party size at the same time. So we may make sure your group is able to stay together. Dinner will be available for purchase in the Theater and doors are 1 hour pre show for guest arrival. Masks are required when entering the venue and when not eating or Drinking Parking is available @ the 7 Point Parking Ramp across the Street or just south there is off street parking at 31st and Hennepin off street. Hailed as “gently virtuosic” (All About Jazz), singer Maud Hixson is a devoted exponent of great songs, ranging from the classic Great American Songbook to the often unsung or forgotten compositions awaiting rediscovery. Based in Saint Paul, Minnesota, Maud is the co-founder of the continental jazz sextet French 75 with clarinetist Tony Balluff. She made her Guthrie Theater debut in the Noel Coward revue Coward’s Women, and has also appeared in Park Square Theater’s The Soul of Gershwin. She teamed with Sir Richard Rodney Bennett in 2012 for the long-running Midtown Jazz at Midday concert series at Saint Peter’s in Manhattan and debuted her show Skyscraper Wits in London and New York in 2015 Maud Hixson
