Description

A panel considering the impact of autonomous vehicles Autonomous vehicles will possibly have the most transformative impact on the transportation industry and society at large in the 21st century. Will they contribute to a more sustainable and accessible society or will they exacerbate the transportation issues we face today? Join us for a discussion on the future of autonomous vehicles with Sam "Gridlock Sam" Schwartz, founder and consultant of Sam Schwartz Engineering, and William Wang, chair & CEO of Young Professionals in Transportation International and Schwarzman Scholar. Daniel Weiss, senior rail project manager at Arup, moderates. The program is presented by Cooper Union's student chapters of ITE and IEEE. To attend in person, please register here. Attendees are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster and must wear a CDC-recommended mask (disposable surgical, KN95, KF94, or N95) while indoors. Cloth masks alone are not permitted but may be worn as a second layer over a disposable surgical mask. If you prefer to watch via livestream, please register here. The Cooper Union, est. 1859, grants degrees in art, architecture, and engineering and offers public programs for the civic, cultural and practicable enrichment of New York City.
