Medford Sets Public Meeting On COVID Relief Aid

MEDFORD, MA — Medford will receive roughly $48 million through the American Rescue Plan Act and wants feedback from residents on how that money should be allocated. The city will hold a community meeting on Wednesday, March 9 at 6 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers and over Zoom to provide updates, answer questions and collect input from residents. Federal Funds Manager Molly Kivi will present specific guidelines on how funds can be spent, what the administration's goals are, and how the community can help shape the city's ARPA strategy. The city will also put out a survey seeking feedback from the community. "While the guidance from the federal government on what we can use this money on is strict, we have the ability to make a substantial investment in our infrastructure, public health strategy, green open spaces and more with these funds," Kivi said in a statement. "We are working now to prioritize projects but want to ensure that the community has a voice in the decision-making process."
