Press release from the Wright County Government: November 12, 2020 This week is Winter Weather Awareness Week in Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Safety's Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division is warning Minnesota about the dangers of carbon monoxide poisoning and the reasons why it is vital to have carbon monoxide detectors operational and in good working order. Carbon monoxide poisoning can happen throughout the year, but it is a greater danger during the winter months when doors and windows are closed and fireplaces, gas heaters and other fuel-burning appliances are in use, as well as people warming up their vehicles in garages.
