ARLINGTON, MA — An Arlington man was arrested with more than two pounds of marijuana and $24,000 in cash on Monday, police said.
The arrest of 54-year-old Keith Lombardi "shuttered the operation of a drug dealer who is well-known to police," Chief Julie Flaherty said. Lombardi was pulled over while driving a 2021 Ford F-150 with cancelled registration plates from a 2006 Mercedes, police said.
The stop happened on River Street shortly before noon.
Police said Lombardi, whose license is suspended, had removed an inspection sticker from another vehicle and put it on the truck. Officers searched the truck and found more than two pounds of marijuana, packaged in 12 baggies of about 3 ounces each, police said.
They also seized more than $24,000 in cash, police said.
Lombardi was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, operating with a suspended license, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possessing or using a false or stolen RMV document and attaching plates.
He will be arraigned Tuesday in Cambridge District Court.
