Granada High School Evacuated Following 'Possible Safety Threat'

LIVERMORE, CA — All Granada High School students and staff were evacuated Tuesday morning due to an unspecified "safety threat," the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District has confirmed. Students and staff have since been told that it is safe to re-enter the school. At 10:17 a.m., Granada High School parents were notified by email that the school received an anonymous report of a possible safety threat. "Out of an abundance of caution and under the advisement of the Livermore Police Department, all students and staff have been evacuated to the back fields, away from all classrooms and building facilities," school leadership said. "They are to remain under the supervision of and protection of the Livermore Police Department and GHS Staff until campus is cleared for their return." At 11:20 a.m., following a preliminary and more thorough search, police determined that no students or staff were in danger, and were permitted to return to classrooms.
