Description
MISS JACQUE is looking for a lead guitar (not limited to only lead) player to fill dates as soon as possible, as well as become a permanent member of our group. We are female-led and play across several genres such as pop (Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, etc.), rock (Cranberries, Goldfinger, Eve 6, Tool, etc), classic rock (Def Leppard, Pat Benatar, Iron Maiden, Joan Jett, etc), country (Shania Twain, Miranda Lambert, Toby Keith, etc), hip-hop (RUN-DMC, Lizzo, etc), and R&B (Ginuwine, Prince, TLC, etc.). Musts: -Professionalism: punctuality, general sobriety (just don’t get BLITZED at shows), personable attitude, being a team player -Musicianship: transcribing recordings accurately, communicating and understanding musical ideas (music theory is a huge plus, but common music sense is most important), understanding of tone, professional gear (a direct-in option [Helix, Kemper, etc.] is encouraged but not necessary), vocal ability is a plus -Performance: look like you’re having fun playing on stage. That’s it. “Star Power” is more than welcome, as long as it doesn’t come with overburdening ego. Also, willingness to dress the part -Commitment: we play venues in Greater Cincinnati areas including Hamilton, Montgomery, Trenton, Monroe, Harrison, Fairfield etc. We are booked ALMOST EVERY WEEKEND until New Years. We rehearse on average once a week in Harrison, usually on Wednesday Pay is really good, and it is dispersed equally among our (what will be) 5 band members. We have A LOT of fun doing this. Paying bills with the gig surely justifies the time put in. We conduct ourselves professionally but are also not afraid to have a reasonably good time. Our patrons who frequent our gigs are a BLAST. We are particularly ambitious in getting better as a band, nailing interesting arrangements (whether transcribed or created ourselves). We take pride in not just slamming “cowboy chords” or power chords, but lean into harmony, chord voicings, and dynamics. An enthusiastic member who can add to our enthusiasm is exactly what we need on top of one who can execute musically. We are more than energetic toward playing in a band and growing as such. Age is NOT AN ISSUE as long as you can get into bar and check off the “Musts” above. We ourselves are 30 and mid-20’s. Looking forward to the future.
