SANDUSKY, OH — Cash will no longer be an accepted form of payment at Cedar Point as the amusement park moves to a new cashless model this year. Guests will be able to make purchases using debit and credit cards and via Google Pay and Apple Pay. There will also be places where guests can convert cash into prepaid cards they can use at stores throughout Cedar Point. The prepaid cards can be used at stores outside of Cedar Point — and in fact are valid at any business that accepts Visa — but if the cards are not used for 92 consecutive days, a $3.95 fee will be charged to the card. "There are plenty of benefits, both for guests and our parks," Cedar Point spokesman Gary Rhodes said in a statement. "Cashless transactions are faster, safer and more secure. Guests can spend less time in the check-out waiting on change and more time hitting up their favorite rides or other attractions."
