DEARBORN, MI — Construction crews will soon begin working on a stretch of Telegraph Road in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, officials said.
Both directions of Telegraph Road between Van Born and Oxford roads will be under construction in early March, officials said. The construction project will include removing trees and road repairs, and is expected to last until the fall.
"There will be times when traffic will need to be reduced to only one lane in either direction," officials said in a release. "While every effort will be made to keep as many lanes open as possible, drivers can expect delays through this work zone."
The project will begin with removing trees from Telegraph Road's median. The work will close the left lanes in both directions, officials said.
After removing the trees from the median, construction crews will begin making road repairs, but leaving several lanes in both directions open. Once repairs are done, crews will finally resurface the road, during which, only one lane will be open in both directions, officials said.
Overall, the project includes milling and resurfacing Telegraph Road along with curb and gutter work, drainage improvements, guard rail, sign work, and signal modernization at six locations, officials said.
