SOUTHAMPTON, NY — Southampton High School students participated in the National African American Read-In Movement recently, bringing books to share with elementary school children. Members of Southampton High School's Black Girl Magic Club and students from Southampton Intermediate School participated in the National African American Read-In Movement as part of Black History Month by reading to the district's elementary school students on Feb. 28, the district said. All of the books chosen by the participating students were authored or illustrated by an African American. "This was a great way to connect our students to the high school and intermediate school students and to celebrate this important month," said Southampton Elementary School Principal Jaime Bottcher.
